EA ordered to pay $11 million.

The original designer of Madden NFL has won his lawsuit against EA.

Robin Antonick filed a lawsuit against the publisher for unpaid royalties for the game between 1990-1996. A US District Court jury in the Northern District of California noted that the games released during that time "were virtually identical to the original version of Madden NFL Football, developed by Antonick."

EA will pay him $11 million as a result of these unpaid royalties, and Antonick will "seek to appeal previous rulings that excluded Super Nintendo games and fraud claims from the jury deliberations." The lawsuit will also continue to see if Antonick will get royalties from 1997 to today for the series.
